A change of scenery, red wine & men in lycra!

Here I am sitting in the sun reflecting on just how far I have come over the last few years...

From someone who had no confidence after a divorce to the person sitting here who hopped on a plane on my own to stay with a friend in Portugal. What a difference!

Before this trip I had only ever flown with my girls or friends, never completely alone. It was a very strange experience not having to look after anyone else and, if I'm honest, I found the experience a bit uncomfortable. I realised how much of my life revolves around looking out for my girls. It's a huge part of my identity and I love that. However, we do need to push ourselves out of our comfort zone!

But a week to please myself beckoned and I am enjoying every moment of it. Long lazy days drinking coffee (and red wine) in the sun. Time to watch the world go by, ok I did drop lucky and arrive bang in the middle of the Algarve Mountain Bike Challenge so I had men in Lycra and mud to watch too! Lots of long dog walks and some great conversations (yes fuelled by more red wine) about happiness, work and life. I should have realised that staying with a coach for a week would get me thinking!
